Shipping & Returns

Islandpeople.Co is committed to deliver your order with good quality packaging within a given time frame. We ship throughout the week except Friday & Public holidays. All of Islandpeople.Co orders are shipped door-to-door from our studio in Dubai, UAE to your provided shipping address. Processing the order normally takes 2-3 working days and then shipping takes 3-4 working days. In case you need a product by a particular date, please reach out to our team and inform us in advance.

We aim to keep every item on our website in stock. If there is an item which you purchase and then we realize this item is not available, we will promptly inform you within 2 working days of your purchase and fully refund your money for the out of stock item.

Please note by purchasing from Islandpeople.Co you as the buyer agree to our shopping terms, conditions and policies.


Before you return an Island People.Co product, please take a moment to understand how our products are made. All our products are handcrafted by traditional craft persons in Sri Lanka, resulting in each product being unique and slightly different from each other.

Let’s not think of an irregular weave or print or a stitch as a defect. Handmade by definition means a glorious uncertainty when it comes to uniformity. Most of the processes are manual; hence the irregularities which may occur are characteristic of the process and not counted as a defect.

Please read item descriptions carefully and note sizes of products. Please also know monitors are calibrated differently and colours, while may be close, may not be 100% accurate. We have done our best to display as accurately as possible the colors of the products shown on this Web site. However, because the colors you see will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any color will be accurate. In spite of these variables, at Islandpeople.co we stand behind the quality of our products and we will replace the product if you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason. Please read below our return & exchange policies before you return any item.



Our shipments are carefully inspected before leaving our studio, but if you are not satisfied with your purchase please follow the instructions below:

  • Exchange/Return will be only accepted once.
  • We only exchange a product for once and when informed within 2 working days from receiving the goods. If you would like to request an exchange please write to us at info@islandpeople.co
  • Items which are to be exchanged need to be sent back within 7 days of receiving the goods.
  • Islandpeople.Co will replace the returned items or issue a credit note for the cost of the goods after we have received the returned shipment.
  • Shipping charges will not be refunded and customers are required to pay for the shipping costs to return the goods to the applicable return address. Islandpeople.Co will not be responsible for any loss in the courier sent by you.
  • If we have sent you the wrong item (wrong style, color or size), shipping charges for the replacement will not be billed to the customer.
  • The value of the exchange order cannot be lesser than the original order. However, it can be more. In this case the difference amount has to be paid by the customer.
    Customers cannot return or exchange an item which has been purchased online at any of our retail stores, and similarly retail store purchases cannot be returned through our Online Store.
  • Items purchased at pop-up events are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.

Exchange will be done in following cases:

  • Genuine sizing issues, only for unused items. Please review product details carefully before making your purchase.
  • In case Islandpeople.Co discovers that a wrong item (wrong style,color or size) has been shipped to you.

No exchange will be done in following cases:

  • In case of minor design and color variations. With hand crafted products there will always be some variation between products.

Refunds will be done in the following cases:

  • Packages lost in transit.
  • In case Islandpeople.Co discovers any wrong pricing in its online catalogue and the price charged to you is higher than the actual price.

No Refunds will be done in the following cases:

  • Incorrect or outdated delivery address.
  • Incorrect address format including any form of a PO Box address.
  • After 2 failed delivery attempts by the courier.
  • Package refused by recipient.
  • Products returned in a used or damaged condition.

Note: Exchange and Refunds will only be made after we have received the returned shipment.


Only regular priced items may be returned, unfortunately sale or promotion items are final and cannot be returned.

We cannot be held responsible for any incorrect addresses entered at checkout. To modify your order, please email info@islandpeople.co within one hour of placing the order.


If you place an order and prefer to pick it up from Dubai Marina , please send us an email at info@islandpeople.co for refund shipping fees. An email will be sent when your order is ready for pickup. All orders must be picked up within our business hours of 10:00am-5:30pm Sunday-Thursday . Please call us +971 507597916 to arrange a specific date.
